Creche Festive Appeal

Help bring Joy to Children affected by parental substance use this winter

For parents navigating substance use and recovery, the winter holidays can be especially challenging. Routines shift, pressures rise, and finding moments of calm can feel impossible. For their children, this is a time when stability, safety, and warmth matter more than ever.

They need your help.

A safe space for children while parents heal

The Oasis Project Crèche is a bright, nurturing environment designed for children whose parents are working hard to make positive changes in their lives. While parents attend treatment sessions supporting their recovery from drugs or alcohol, their little ones are welcomed into a space where they can play, learn, and simply feel safe.

The Oasis Project crèche is available year-round for any baby or child whose parent is accessing support across Brighton and Hove.

The Oasis crèche is the only provision of its kind locally, but this essential service relies upon public support to cover costs and continue to run.

That’s where you come in: This festive season, Oasis has launched an appeal to raise much needed funds for the creche. Can you help?

What parents say about the difference creche makes

“Crèche is a safe, protective environment.”

“The staff are friendly and caring and work with carers to provide the best experience for the child.”

“It’s safe and I get ‘me’ time. My child can have fun while I do groups.”

“My child’s behaviour has improved, particularly when it comes to sharing.”

How you can make a difference

By supporting our Oasis Crèche Festive Appeal, you can help ensure that children who may have already faced early challenges experience a season filled with joy, consistency and hope.

Your gift—big or small—truly matters. You might choose to:

Donate in place of sending Christmas cards

Give a meaningful, alternative Christmas gift to someone you love

Redirect some of your Black Friday or seasonal spending towards making a real impact

Every act of generosity helps children affected by parental substance use reach their full potential and look forward to a brighter, more secure future.

Your Support Means Everything

Your kindness provides safety, warmth, and opportunity for a child who truly deserves it.

£5 pays for health snacks for children in the creche to share

£10 pays for sensory play items such as sand and water play, and taste exploration

£20 pays for materials for arts and play activities, such as musical instruments, craft supplies and educational games

Thank you for helping us make this season brighter for children affected by parental substance use.
