Clare Rogers Founder & MD of award winning Brighton salon, The Treatment Rooms

In 1995, Clare founded The Treatment Rooms with 2 beauty rooms. 2001 they moved to larger premises; Brighton’s largest independent beauty salon, with 10 treatment rooms. Over the years, The Treatment Rooms has won many awards including ‘Best Spa for the South-East’ by The Good Spa Guide and ‘Best Customer Service’ twice in the Brighton & Hove Business Awards. Clare is the sole owner and Managing Director of The Treatment Rooms, leading a team of 22 therapists and receptionists. She was awarded Golden Alumni and Honorary Graduate by Greater Brighton Metropolitan College (MET) where she trained 1979-81 (then known as Brighton Technical College).

 

 

Gemma Ogston Founder of plant-based catering business, Gem’s Wholesome Kitchen

Gemma ran a successful vegan takeaway business in Barcelona for many years before relocating to Brighton where she set up her own catering business. Gem’s Wholesome Kitchen provides healthy meals for private clients and offers bespoke plant based meal plans with a home delivery service as well as running pop-up restaurants. Alongside running Gem’s Wholesome Kitchen, Gemma studies plant-based nutrition and is a mother of two!

 

 

 

Melanie Richardson Managing Partner at Swindles Accountants + shortlisted for ‘Business Woman of the Year’ Awards

Melanie Richardson is Managing Partner at Swindells Chartered Accountants in Uckfield. In 2017 Melanie was shortlisted for ‘Business Woman of the Year’ in both the Sussex Women in Business Awards and the Sussex Business Women Excellence Awards. Melanie is Director of Sussex Chamber of Commerce and sits on the Board of Trustees for Spotlight YOPD, a charity raising awareness of Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease.

 

 

Lola Hoad Creative coach, Writer, Podcaster & Founder of One Girl Band

Having run her own design business for a number of years and discovering the world of lone working to be isolating and exhausting, Lola Hoad established co-working space and online community, One Girl Band, for female entrepreneurs and business women craving some connection, support and empowerment. Lola writes and podcasts about her experiences, sharing ideas and inspiration. She also coaches female entrepreneurs and creatives who either want to start their journey as a small business owner, or want to get to the next level of their creative venture.
