Board of Trustees

Gretchen Precey Gretchen Precey – Chair
I am an Independent Social Worker, trainer and consultant with a background in child protection based in Lewes. My association with Brighton Oasis Project goes back to its formation 11 years ago when I was working at the Clermont Child Protection Unit in Brighton and was asked to become one of the original trustees when Oasis was established. I have chaired the Board for the past 7 years and very much enjoy being part of such a worthwhile organization.

I am an ex-employee of BOP and was co-opted as a Trustee for the BOP Board in March 2008. I have experience in project administration, project management and community development as well as proposal development. I have a passion to work with socially excluded/marginalised people by helping them get back into their societies and this is why I am happy to be part of BOP’s mission. I currently work for an international development research institute in Brighton.

I am the Service Manager for the West Area Team (Social Care) in the Brighton and Hove Children and Young People’s Trust. I am a qualified social worker and have been employed by Brighton and Hove City Council for over 10 years, having previously worked in London Boroughs. I currently live in Lewes. I become a trustee at Oasis in April 2009 and I am excited to have the opportunity to contribute to this organisation that provides valuable and creative services to women and their children. I hold responsibility within Social Care for the POCAR Project which has made me aware of the real positive outcomes that the Oasis Project achieves.

I am a GP based in Hove. I have been involved with Oasis for over three years now and fully believe in the work the project does to support the women and children that access the service. As a local GP I am aware of the importance of such an organisation here in Brighton and Hove. I feel committed to my position on the Oasis board of directors.
