Open Access.

There are many reasons people use Open Access – it is a space to come and talk about your drug and alcohol use, a place to get information or advice and to find out what we can offer.

What is Open Access?

Open access is a space to come and talk about your drug and alcohol use. Some people come to open access simply to find out more about the effects of drugs or alcohol, to get information or advice about safer use or to check out more about what we can offer you. Other people come to open access because they have been talked into it by a worried friend, relative or partner. Others come because something has happened and they have become overwhelmed about their situation and need support and advice.

Whatever your reason for coming our substance misuse worker will listen to your worries, help you with immediate concerns and support you to take the next steps.

Our workers understand the many related and complex reasons that people start to use drugs and alcohol. Addiction can be a reaction to serious life difficulties like trauma, loss and abuse and can affect anyone, any time. Our workers know this and are trained to help and direct you to the right sources of support, either within our service or elsewhere.

Do I need to book?

Booking open access helps us to make sure that we can give you the time you need to talk things through properly. We can allocate some dedicated time to supporting you – at the end of the session we can agree a plan for you to come back if this would be helpful.
