Outreach Service
Our Outreach service for women is friendly and non-judgemental.
Who the service is for:
The service is for women who are using drugs or alcohol and who are in need of some additional support and are not currently engaged in a structured day care programme.
Our part-time Outreach Worker works mostly with women who live in hostels or who have a history of homelessness as well as women who have additional support needs (such as health issues or recent release from prison).
What the service offers:
We take a holistic approach which means that as well as offering support and advice about drug or alcohol use, you can talk to our outreach worker about other concerns you might have about your health or other aspects of your life that you would like to change or would like help or advice with.
The service aims to support women with complex needs to make best use of those services available to them. If you are feeling nervous or worried about going into services to get the support or healthcare you need, she will be happy to talk through these problems with you and can support you with contacting services or attending appointments.
The Outreach Service is also linked in with SWOP (our Sex Workers’ Outreach Project) so if you are selling sex to support a drug or alcohol problem, our outreach worker can offer you free condoms, as well as confidential and non-judgemental support, advice and information on issues such as health and safer working.
