Brighton Oasis project is a registered charity and has a duty to follow certain rules and regulations set by the Charity Commission. This means ensuring that we keep to the agreed aims of the organisation and that there are arrangements in place to oversee its smooth running.
This includes recruiting a Board of trustees to work with the project Director, producing annual accounts and holding an annual general meeting (AGM).
The day to day running of the organisation is overseen by The Director, Jo-Anne Welsh and she reports bi-monthly to the Board of Trustees. The Trustees act as an advisory body and they hold expertise in many areas of work including Human Resources, Health and Social Care, Finance, Safeguarding, Social work and substance misuse. They have working in a range of settings; public, commercial, voluntary and community and bring a wealth of experience and knowledge.
Experts by experience
Oasis fully recognises the role of ‘experts by experience’ in supporting the development and delivery of services. People who use drug and alcohol treatment services have first hand knowledge of ‘what works’ and often contribute ideas and knowledge that brings insight and benefits to others.
If you are interested in joining our board of trustees please contact The Director for a chat and she will tell you more about how to apply.
